Wharton Borough is a small borough located in Morris County, New Jersey. It is situated in the northern part of the state, approximately 25 miles west of New York City. The borough is bordered by the towns of Rockaway, Dover, and Parsippany-Troy Hills. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population of Wharton Borough was 5,097.
History
Wharton Borough was originally part of the Horseneck Tract, a large tract of land purchased by the Dutch from the Lenape Native Americans in 1698. The area was first settled in 1710 by Dutch and English settlers. The town was officially incorporated in 1871, and was named after Joseph Wharton, a prominent Philadelphia businessman and philanthropist.

Wharton Borough is located at 40°51'N 74°37'W (40.85, -74.62). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 2.2 square miles, all of which is land. The borough is located in the northern part of Morris County, approximately 25 miles west of New York City.

Wharton Borough is a small, rural community with a primarily residential population. The borough does not have any major industries or businesses, but there are several small businesses located in the area. These include restaurants, retail stores, and professional services.
