Ramsey Borough is a borough located in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 14,473, reflecting an increase of 717 (+5.2%) from the 13,756 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,082 (+8.5%) from the 12,674 counted in the 1990 Census.
History
The area that is now Ramsey was originally inhabited by the Lenni Lenape Native Americans. The first European settlers were Dutch farmers who arrived in the area in the late 17th century. The area was part of Saddle River Township until 1710, when it became part of Orangetown. In 1791, the area was incorporated as Franklin Township. In 1828, the area was split into two parts, with the northern part becoming Hohokus Township and the southern part becoming Franklin Township. In 1906, the area was incorporated as the Borough of Ramsey.

Ramsey is located at 40°59'N 74°09'W (40.983, -74.150). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 5.2 square miles (13.4 km2), all of which is land.

As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 14,473 people, 5,093 households, and 3,845 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2,788.2 per square mile (1,077.7/km2). There were 5,269 housing units at an average density of 1,017.2 per square mile (392.3/km2). The racial makeup of the borough was 87.45% (12,664) White, 0.90% (130) Black or African American, 0.09% (13) Native American, 8.90% (1,293) Asian, 0.03% (4) Pacific Islander, 1.17% (170) from other races, and 1.46% (211) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.90% (854) of the population.
