History
The area that is now Allyn was first settled in the late 1800s by homesteaders. The town was originally known as "Allyn's Landing" after the Allyn family, who were among the first settlers. The Allyns were a prominent family in the area, and the town was eventually named after them.
The first post office in Allyn was established in 1891. The town was officially incorporated in 1909.

Allyn is primarily a residential community, with most of its residents commuting to nearby towns and cities for work. The town does have a few small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants.
The town is also home to a marina, which provides access to the Puget Sound. The marina is a popular destination for boaters and fishermen.
