Tower Lakes Summary

History
Tower Lakes was incorporated in 1957. The village was named after Tower Lake, which was named after a nearby tower that was used to measure water levels. The village was originally a summer resort community, and many of the original homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s.
Geography
Tower Lakes is located at 42°14'17" North, 88°7'45" West (42.238, -88.129). According to the 2010 census, the village has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all land.
Economy
Tower Lakes is primarily a residential community, with most of its residents commuting to nearby cities for work. The village does have a few small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants.
Demographics
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,717 people, 645 households, and 517 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,431.7 people per square mile (553.3/km2). There were 672 housing units at an average density of 559.2 per square mile (215.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 94.2% White, 0.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 2.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.2% from other races, and 1.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.2% of the population.
There were 645 households, out of which 33.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.2% were married couples living together, 6.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.2% were non-families. 17.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 24.2% from 25 to 44, 33.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $90,938, and the median income for a family was $97,917. Males had a median income of $71,250 versus $45,000 for females. The per capita income for the village was $41,945.
