Seaton is a small village located in Mercer County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,093 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Quad Cities metropolitan area.

History

Seaton was founded in 1854 by William Seaton, a farmer from Ohio. He purchased the land from the government and began to build a small village. The village was named after him and was incorporated in 1858.
The first post office was established in 1856 and the first school was built in 1859. The village grew slowly but steadily over the years and by the turn of the century, it had a population of around 500.
