Reddick Summary

Reddick is a small village located in LaSalle County, Illinois. It is situated in the north-central part of the state, about 60 miles southwest of Chicago. The village has a population of approximately 500 people and covers an area of 0.6 square miles.

History

Reddick was founded in 1854 by William Reddick, a settler from Ohio. He purchased the land from the government and began to develop the area. The village was originally known as Reddick’s Grove, but the name was changed to Reddick in 1858.

In 1887, the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad built a line through the village, which helped to spur economic development.
