Pulaski Summary
Pulaski is a small village located in the state of Illinois, in the United States. It is located in the county of Pulaski, and is part of the larger metropolitan area of Chicago. The village has a population of just over 1,000 people, and is located in the northern part of the state, near the Wisconsin border.
History
Pulaski was first settled in 1835 by a group of Polish immigrants, who named the village after the Polish hero, Casimir Pulaski. The village was officially incorporated in 1867, and the first mayor was elected in 1868. The village grew slowly over the years, and by the turn of the 20th century, it had a population of just over 500 people.
In the early 1900s, the village began to experience a period of growth, as more people moved to the area. This growth was largely due to the development of the railroad, which connected the village to the larger cities of Chicago and Milwaukee. The village also experienced a period of industrial growth, as several factories were built in the area.
