Elvaston is a small village located in the state of Illinois, United States. It is situated in Hancock County, and is part of the Keokuk-Hamilton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village has a population of approximately 500 people, and is located about 25 miles south of the city of Quincy.
History
Elvaston was founded in 1836 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Hamilton. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and start a new life, and Elvaston seemed to fit the bill.
