Earlville is a small village located in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. The village is situated on the banks of the Fox River, approximately 60 miles southwest of Chicago. As of the 2010 census, the population of Earlville was 1,717.
History
Earlville was founded in 1854 by William Earl, a local farmer. The village was originally known as Earl’s Grove, but was later changed to Earlville. The village was incorporated in 1867.
In the late 19th century, Earlville was a thriving agricultural community. The village was home to several grain elevators, a flour mill, a creamery, and a cheese factory. The village also had a number of stores, a hotel, a bank, and a post office.
In the early 20th century, Earlville began to experience a decline in population as many of its residents moved away to larger cities in search of better job opportunities. The village’s population continued to decline until the 1950s, when it began to slowly increase again.

Earlville is located at 41°25'25" North, 88°51'45" West (41.423, -88.862). The village has a total area of 1.2 square miles, all of which is land.
The village is situated on the banks of the Fox River, which flows through the village from east to west. The village is located in a rural area, with the nearest large city being Ottawa, which is approximately 15 miles to the east.

Earlville’s economy is largely based on agriculture. The village is home to several farms, which produce a variety of crops, including corn, soybeans, and wheat. The village also has a number of small businesses, including restaurants, retail stores, and service providers.
