Cooksville, Illinois is a small village located in McLean County, Illinois. It is situated in the central part of the state, about 25 miles north of Bloomington and about 30 miles south of Peoria. History

Cooksville was founded in 1854 by William Cook, a settler from Ohio. He purchased the land from the government and began to build a small village. The village was named after him and was incorporated in 1858.
In the late 19th century, Cooksville was a thriving agricultural community. It was home to several grain elevators, a flour mill, a sawmill, and a blacksmith shop. The village also had a post office, a school, and a few stores.
In the early 20th century, Cooksville began to decline as the railroad bypassed the village. The population decreased and the businesses closed. In the 1950s, the village was revitalized with the construction of a new school and the opening of a new grocery store.
