Addieville Summary
Addieville is a small village located in Washington County, Illinois, United States. The population was 545 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Centralia Micropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Addieville was founded in 1858 by John Addie, a German immigrant. He purchased the land from the government and began to develop the area. He built a sawmill, a grist mill, and a blacksmith shop. He also built a store and a post office. The village was named after him.
In the late 19th century, Addieville was a thriving community with a population of over 500 people. It had several stores, a hotel, a bank, a school, and a church. The village was also home to a number of businesses, including a brickyard, a creamery, and a lumberyard.
Geography
Addieville is located at 38°25'25" North, 89°17'45" West (38.423, -89.296). According to the 2010 census, the village has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2), all land.

The economy of Addieville is largely based on agriculture. The village is home to several farms, which produce corn, soybeans, and wheat. There are also several small businesses in the village, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a restaurant.

The racial makeup of the village was 97.3% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.
There were 206 households, out of which 33.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.8% were married couples living together, 8.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.6% were non-families. 24.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.17.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 28.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
