Geography

Vernon is located in the northwest corner of Oneida County, New York. It is bordered by the towns of Verona to the north, Westmoreland to the east, Augusta to the south, and Sangerfield to the west.
The town is located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and is home to several small lakes, including Lake Delta, Lake Oneida, and Lake Vernon.
The highest point in the town is the summit of Mount Vernon, which has an elevation of 1,845 feet (562 m).
