St. Regis Falls is a small hamlet located in the town of Bombay, Franklin County, New York. It is situated on the St. Regis River, which is a tributary of the St. Lawrence River. History

The area that is now St. Regis Falls was originally inhabited by the Mohawk and Algonquin Native American tribes. The first European settlers arrived in the area in the late 1700s. The hamlet was originally known as “St. Regis” and was named after the St. Regis River. The hamlet was officially incorporated in 1845.
In the late 1800s, the hamlet was a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to the Adirondack Mountains. The hamlet was also home to several lumber mills and paper mills. The paper mills were the main source of employment for the residents of St. Regis Falls.

Geography

St. Regis Falls is located in the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York. The hamlet is situated on the St. Regis River, which is a tributary of the St. Lawrence River. The hamlet is surrounded by forests and lakes, including the St. Regis Lake. The hamlet is located approximately 30 miles north of Plattsburgh and approximately 60 miles south of Montreal, Canada.
