Livingston County Summary
Livingston County is located in the western part of New York State, and is part of the Finger Lakes region. It is bordered by Monroe, Ontario, Yates, Steuben, Allegany, and Wyoming counties. The county seat is Geneseo, and the largest city is Mount Morris. The county was established in 1821 and named after Robert R. Livingston, a member of the Committee of Five that drafted the Declaration of Independence.
Geography
Livingston County covers an area of 577 square miles, making it the fourth largest county in New York State. The terrain is mostly rolling hills, with some flat areas in the northern and western parts of the county. The highest point in the county is the summit of Conesus Hill, which is 1,945 feet above sea level. The Genesee River flows through the county, and there are several smaller streams and creeks. The county is home to several state parks, including Letchworth State Park, which is known for its spectacular waterfalls and gorges.

As of the 2010 census, Livingston County had a population of 65,393. The population density was 113 people per square mile. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.7% of the population.
