Nashville Summary

Nashville is a village located in Brown County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,093 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati–Middletown Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography

Nashville is located at 39°14′N 83°45′W (39.23, -83.75). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.6sqmi, all land.

History

Nashville was founded in 1815 by John Nash, a Revolutionary War veteran. The village was named after him. The first post office in Nashville was established in 1817.

Nashville is a small village with a population of 1,093 people. The village is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a pharmacy, a bank, a restaurant, and a gas station.
The village is also home to several manufacturing companies, including a plastics manufacturer, a metal fabricator, and a machine shop.

Demographics

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,093 people, 441 households, and 294 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,817.5 people per square mile (700.3/km2). There were 471 housing units at an average density of 781.7 per square mile (301.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.7% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.7% of the population.
There were 441 households, out of which 33.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.2% were married couples living together, 13.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $37,500, and the median income for a family was $45,000. Males had a median income of $31,250 versus $22,500 for females. The per capita income for the village was $17,845. About 6.2% of families and 8.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.2% of those under age 18 and 8.2% of those age 65 or over.
