West Farmington Summary

History

West Farmington, Ohio is a small village located in Trumbull County, Ohio. It is situated on the western edge of the county, near the border of Mahoning County. The village was founded in 1818 by a group of settlers from Connecticut, and was originally known as West Farmington Centre. The village was incorporated in 1837, and the name was changed to West Farmington.
The village was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were wheat, corn, and oats. The village also had a sawmill, a gristmill, and a blacksmith shop. In the late 1800s, the village began to grow and develop, and several businesses were established. These included a general store, a hotel, a bank, a post office, and a newspaper.
The village was also home to several churches, including the First Congregational Church, the Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Presbyterian Church. In the early 1900s, the village began to experience a population boom, and several new businesses were established. These included a hardware store, a grocery store, a drug store, and a movie theater.

Geography

West Farmington is located in Trumbull County, Ohio, on the western edge of the county, near the border of Mahoning County. The village is situated on the banks of the Mahoning River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. The village is located approximately 25 miles east of Youngstown, Ohio, and approximately 50 miles northwest of Akron, Ohio.
