Unionville Center Summary

Introduction

Unionville Center is a small unincorporated community located in Union County, Ohio. It is situated in the western part of the county, approximately 10 miles east of Marysville and 25 miles northwest of Columbus. The community is home to a population of approximately 500 people and is known for its rural charm and small-town atmosphere.

History

Unionville Center was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Union County, Pennsylvania. The settlers named the community after their home county in Pennsylvania. The first post office was established in 1820 and the first school was built in 1825. The community grew slowly over the years, but remained a small rural community.
In the late 19th century, Unionville Center became a popular destination for tourists. The community was known for its scenic beauty and its proximity to the Scioto River. The community also had a number of popular resorts and hotels, which attracted visitors from all over the region.
In the early 20th century, Unionville Center experienced a period of growth and development. The community was connected to the outside world by the Columbus and Toledo Railroad in 1906. This allowed for the transportation of goods and people to and from the community. The railroad also allowed for the development of a number of businesses in the area, including a flour mill, a sawmill, and a brickyard.

Unionville Center is located in western Union County, Ohio. It is situated in the Scioto River Valley, approximately 10 miles east of Marysville and 25 miles northwest of Columbus.
