Carroll Summary

Carroll, Ohio is a small village located in the eastern part of the state of Ohio. It is situated in the county of Carroll, which is part of the Canton-Massillon Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village has a population of approximately 1,400 people, and is located about 25 miles south of Canton and about 40 miles east of Akron.

History

Carroll was founded in 1817 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania. The village was named after Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The village was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were wheat, corn, and oats. In the late 19th century, the village began to grow and develop, and by the early 20th century, it had become a thriving community.
The village was home to several businesses, including a flour mill, a sawmill, a blacksmith shop, and a general store. The village also had a post office, a bank, and a hotel. In the early 1900s, the village was connected to the outside world by the Cleveland, Canton, and Southern Railroad.
