Youngstown Borough is located at 40°51'N 80°25'W (40.851, -80.417). It has a total area of 0.7 square miles, all of which is land. The borough is situated along the Mahoning River, which forms its western boundary. The borough is bordered by Mahoning Township to the north, Pulaski Township to the east, and Shenango Township to the south.
