Sweden Valley Summary

Sweden Valley is a small unincorporated community located in Potter County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the Allegheny Plateau region of the state, and is part of the Potter County Micropolitan Statistical Area. The community is located along the Sweden Valley Creek, a tributary of the Genesee River.

History

Sweden Valley was first settled in the early 19th century by Swedish immigrants. The community was originally known as Swede Valley, and was later changed to Sweden Valley. The first post office in the area was established in 1851.
The community was home to a number of small businesses, including a sawmill, a grist mill, a tannery, and a general store. The community also had a school, a church, and a cemetery.

Geography

Sweden Valley is located in Potter County, Pennsylvania, in the Allegheny Plateau region of the state. It is situated along the Sweden Valley Creek, a tributary of the Genesee River. The community is located approximately 10 miles south of Coudersport, the county seat.
The community is located in a rural area, with the nearest major city being Buffalo, New York, which is approximately 100 miles to the northeast.
