Sankertown borough Summary

Sankertown Borough is a small borough located in the state of Pennsylvania. It is situated in the northwest corner of the state, in the county of Crawford. The borough is bordered by the townships of East Fairfield, West Fairfield, and West Mead. The population of Sankertown Borough was 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

History

Sankertown Borough was founded in 1836 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Meadville. The settlers named the borough after their leader, John Sanker. The first settlers were mostly farmers and the area was known for its fertile soil and abundant natural resources.
