History
Roseville Borough was founded in 1851 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Liverpool. The town was named after the rose bushes that grew in abundance in the area. The first post office was established in 1854, and the first school was built in 1856.
The borough was incorporated in 1871, and the first mayor was elected in 1872. The first fire company was organized in 1873, and the first church was built in 1875.
