History
Pillow Borough was founded in 1845 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Pillow. The settlers were looking for a place to build a new community and chose the area that is now Pillow Borough. The town was named after the nearby Pillow Creek, which was named after the pillow-shaped rocks that were found in the creek.
The first settlers in Pillow Borough were mostly farmers and the town quickly grew. By the late 1800s, Pillow Borough had become a thriving community with a variety of businesses, including a grist mill, a saw mill, a blacksmith shop, a general store, and a post office.
