Mifflin Borough is a small borough located in the state of Pennsylvania. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the state, in the county of Juniata. The borough is located in the Appalachian Mountains and is surrounded by the Susquehanna River. The population of Mifflin Borough was 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

Geography

Mifflin Borough is located at 40°37'N 77°17'W. It is situated in the Appalachian Mountains and is surrounded by the Susquehanna River. The borough is located in the Juniata Valley, which is a narrow valley that runs through the Appalachian Mountains. The borough is located in the Juniata County, which is part of the Central Pennsylvania region. The borough is located approximately 30 miles south of Harrisburg, the state capital.
The borough is located in a rural area and is surrounded by farmland. The terrain is mostly hilly and the elevation is approximately 1,000 feet above sea level. The climate in Mifflin Borough is humid continental, with cold winters and hot summers.

History

Mifflin Borough was founded in 1820 by a group of settlers from Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. The borough was named after the county. The borough was originally a farming community and the main industry was agriculture. The borough was also known for its iron ore deposits, which were mined in the late 19th century.
The borough was incorporated in 1867 and the first mayor was elected in 1868. The borough was a popular destination for tourists in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The borough was also home to several factories, including a paper mill, a tannery, and a brickyard.
