McClure borough Summary

Mcclure Borough is a small borough located in Snyder County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the Susquehanna Valley, approximately 10 miles south of Selinsgrove. The population of the borough was 545 at the 2010 census.

History

Mcclure Borough was founded in 1876 by John Mcclure, a local farmer. The town was named after him and was incorporated in 1887. The town was originally a farming community, but in the early 1900s, the town began to grow and develop. The first industry to come to the town was a sawmill, which was built in 1902. This sawmill provided jobs for many of the town's residents and helped to spur the growth of the town.
In the early 1900s, the town also began to develop a small business district. This included a general store, a post office, a bank, and a few other businesses. The town also had a school, which was built in 1910.
