Marianne is a borough located in Snyder County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the Susquehanna Valley, approximately 10 miles south of Selinsgrove and 15 miles north of Harrisburg. The population of Marianne was 1,845 at the 2010 census.
Geography
Marianne is located at 40°45'45" North, 76°51'45" West (40.7625, -76.8625). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2), all of it land.
History
Marianne was founded in 1854 by a group of German immigrants. The town was named after the daughter of one of the founders, Marianne Schaeffer. The town was incorporated in 1867.

Marianne is a small, rural community with a primarily agricultural economy. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants. The town also has a small industrial park, which is home to several small manufacturing companies.

The racial makeup of the borough was 97.3% White, 0.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.4% from two or more races. There were 745 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.2% were married couples living together, 11.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.2% were non-families. 32.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.97.
In the borough, the population was spread out, with 23.2% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 18.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.2 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $35,000, and the median income for a family was $41,250. Males had a median income of $30,000 versus $21,250 for females.
