Lincoln Park Summary

Lincoln Park is a borough located in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

History

Lincoln Park was founded in 1891 by the Lincoln Park Land Company. The company was formed by a group of investors from Pittsburgh who purchased a large tract of land in Butler County. The land was divided into lots and sold to individuals who wanted to build homes in the area. The town was named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States.
The first post office in Lincoln Park was established in 1892. The town was incorporated as a borough in 1895.
