History

Gouglersville was founded in 1845 by John Gouglers, a German immigrant who had come to the United States in 1832. He purchased a tract of land in the area and began to develop it into a small village. The village was named after him and was incorporated as a borough in 1876.
Gouglersville was a small farming community for many years, but in the early 20th century, it began to experience a period of growth and development. The borough was home to several small businesses, including a sawmill, a grist mill, a blacksmith shop, and a general store.

Gouglersville is located at 40°22'45" North, 75°51'45" West (40.379167, -75.862500). It is situated in the southeastern part of Berks County, about 20 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The borough is bordered by the boroughs of Boyertown to the north, Bechtelsville to the east, and Bally to the south.
The terrain of Gouglersville is mostly flat, with some rolling hills in the northern part of the borough. The borough is drained by the Manatawny Creek, which flows through the center of the borough.
