Glenfield borough Summary

Glenfield Borough is a small borough located in the state of Pennsylvania. It is situated in the northern part of the state, in the county of Northumberland. The borough is located in the Susquehanna Valley, and is bordered by the Susquehanna River to the east and the West Branch Susquehanna River to the west. The population of the borough was 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

History

Glenfield Borough was first settled in 1790 by a group of German immigrants. The town was originally known as “Glenfield”, and was named after the nearby Glenfield Creek. The town was incorporated in 1851, and was officially recognized as a borough in 1854.
The town was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were wheat, oats, and corn. The town also had a number of small businesses, including a sawmill, a gristmill, and a tannery.
In the late 19th century, the town began to grow and develop. The railroad was extended to the town in 1883, and the town began to attract more businesses and industries. The town also became a popular tourist destination, and many people came to the town to enjoy the scenery and the outdoor activities.

Glenfield Borough is located in the northern part of the state of Pennsylvania. It is situated in the Susquehanna Valley, and is bordered by the Susquehanna River to the east and the West Branch Susquehanna River to the west. The borough is located in the middle of the Susquehanna Valley, and is surrounded by rolling hills and forests.
