Fairview borough Summary

Introduction

Fairview Borough is a small borough located in Erie County, Pennsylvania. It is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Erie and is part of the Erie Metropolitan Statistical Area. The borough has a population of approximately 2,500 people and covers an area of 1.2 square miles. The borough is known for its small-town charm and is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

History

Fairview Borough was founded in 1851 by a group of settlers from New York. The settlers were attracted to the area due to its proximity to Lake Erie and the abundance of natural resources. The borough was originally known as Fairview Township, but was later changed to Fairview Borough in 1868.
The borough was initially a farming community, but as the years passed, the area began to develop into a more industrial town. The first industry to be established in the borough was a sawmill, which was built in 1871. This was followed by a brickyard, a tannery, and a paper mill.
The borough continued to grow and develop throughout the 20th century. In the 1950s, the borough was home to a number of small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a pharmacy. The borough also had a movie theater, a bowling alley, and a number of restaurants.
