Elderton borough Summary

Elderton Borough is a small borough located in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the Allegheny River Valley, approximately 30 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. The borough has a population of approximately 1,000 people and covers an area of 0.6 square miles.

History

Elderton Borough was founded in 1876 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Kittanning. The settlers were looking for a place to build a new community and chose the area due to its proximity to the Allegheny River. The town was named after the Elderton family, who were among the first settlers.
