History

East Prospect Borough was founded in 1876, when it was separated from Lower Windsor Township. The borough was named after the East Prospect Iron Works, which was established in 1845. The iron works was a major employer in the area, and the borough was created to provide services to the workers and their families.
The East Prospect Iron Works was a major producer of iron products, including railroad ties, bridge components, and other iron products. The iron works closed in the early 1900s, and the borough has since become a residential community.
