Eagleview Summary

Eagleview is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the county, approximately 25 miles west of Philadelphia. The population of Eagleview was 4,845 at the 2010 census.

History

The area that is now Eagleview was originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans. The first European settlers arrived in the area in the late 17th century. The area was part of the original land grant given to William Penn in 1681. The area was known as “Eagleview” by the early 19th century, and the name was officially adopted in 1854.
The area was primarily agricultural until the late 19th century, when the railroad arrived and the area began to develop. The first post office was established in 1876, and the first school was built in 1877. The area continued to grow throughout the 20th century, and by the 2000 census, the population had grown to 4,845.

Geography

Eagleview is located at 39°58'45"N 75°37'45"W (39.979167, -75.629167). It is situated in the southeastern corner of Chester County, approximately 25 miles west of Philadelphia. The CDP has a total area of 2.2 square miles, all of which is land.
