Dale borough Summary
Dale Borough is a small borough located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the southwestern corner of the county, and is bordered by the townships of Hanover, Raccoon, and Independence. The population of Dale Borough was 1,845 at the 2010 census.
History
Dale Borough was founded in 1876, and was named after the Dale family, who were early settlers in the area. The borough was incorporated in 1877, and the first mayor was elected in 1878. The first post office was established in 1879.
In the early 1900s, Dale Borough was a thriving industrial center, with several coal mines, brickyards, and other businesses. The borough was also home to a number of churches, including the First Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1883.

Dale Borough is located at 40°33'N 80°17'W (40.55, -80.28). It has a total area of 0.7 square miles, all of which is land. The borough is located in the southwestern corner of Beaver County, and is bordered by the townships of Hanover, Raccoon, and Independence.
Economy
Dale Borough is a small, rural community with a limited economy. The primary industries in the borough are agriculture and tourism. The borough is home to several small farms, as well as a number of bed and breakfasts and other tourist attractions.
Demographics
As of the 2010 census, there were 1,845 people, 745 households, and 498 families residing in Dale Borough. The population density was 2,621.4 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the borough was 97.3% White, 0.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.7% of the population.
There were 745 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.2% were married couples living together, 12.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% were non-families. 29.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the borough, the population was spread out, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $35,000, and the median income for a family was $41,250. Males had a median income of $31,250 versus $22,500 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $17,845. About 8.2% of families and 10.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 14.2% of those under age 18 and 8.2% of those age 65 or over.
