Garden Summary

Garden, Michigan is a small village located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is situated in the western part of the state, near the Wisconsin border. The village is part of the Menominee County and is home to a population of just over 500 people.

History

Garden was founded in 1883 by a group of Finnish immigrants who had come to the area to work in the lumber industry. The village was named after the Garden River, which runs through the area. The first settlers built a sawmill and a general store, and the village quickly grew. By the early 1900s, Garden had become a thriving community with a population of over 1,000 people.
The village was home to a variety of businesses, including a hotel, a bank, a post office, a blacksmith shop, and a variety of other stores. The lumber industry was the main source of income for the village, and it continued to be a major employer until the 1950s.

Geography
