Rosebush Summary

Rosebush is a small unincorporated community located in Isabella County, Michigan. It is situated in the northeast corner of the county, approximately 8 miles north of Mt. Pleasant. The community is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland, and is home to a population of approximately 500 people.

History

The area that is now Rosebush was first settled in the late 1800s by a group of German immigrants. The community was originally known as “Rosebush Station”, and was named after the wild roses that grew in the area. The first post office was established in 1891, and the community was officially incorporated in 1895.
In the early 1900s, Rosebush was a thriving agricultural community. The area was known for its production of potatoes, corn, and other vegetables. The community also had a number of small businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a sawmill.
