Otisville Summary

Otisville is a small village located in Genesee County, Michigan, United States. The village is situated in the northern part of the county, approximately 10 miles south of Flint and 40 miles northwest of Detroit. The population of Otisville was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

History

Otisville was founded in 1871 by William Otis, a local farmer. The village was originally known as Otisville Station, as it was located on the Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad. The village was incorporated in 1887.
In the early 1900s, Otisville was a thriving agricultural community. The village was home to several businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, a sawmill, and a grist mill. The village also had a post office, a school, and a church.

Otisville is located at 43°02'N 83°45'W (43.03, -83.75). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all land.

Otisville's economy is largely based on agriculture. The village is home to several farms, which produce a variety of crops, including corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay. The village also has a few small businesses, including a gas station, a convenience store, and a restaurant.
