Burnettsville Summary

Burnettsville is a small town located in White County, Indiana, United States. The population was estimated to be 545 in the 2010 census. It is part of the Lafayette, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Burnettsville was founded in 1837 by William Burnett, a settler from Kentucky. The town was originally known as Burnett's Station, and was later changed to Burnettsville. The town was incorporated in 1867.
Burnettsville was a stop on the Monon Railroad, which ran from Chicago to Louisville. The railroad was a major factor in the growth of the town, as it allowed for the transportation of goods and people.
