Lakes of the Four Seasons is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Lake County, Indiana, United States. It is a residential community located in the northwest corner of the county, approximately 25 miles southeast of Chicago. The population of Lakes of the Four Seasons was 8,845 at the 2010 census.
History
The Lakes of the Four Seasons was originally part of the Potawatomi Indian Reservation, which was established in 1838. The Potawatomi were relocated to Kansas in 1846, and the land was opened up for settlement. The area was first settled in the late 1800s by farmers, who grew corn, wheat, and other crops. In the early 1900s, the area was developed as a resort community, with several lakes and a golf course. The Lakes of the Four Seasons was incorporated as a town in 1967.
Geography
Lakes of the Four Seasons is located at 41°25'17" North, 87°25'45" West (41.4214, -87.4292). It is situated in the northwest corner of Lake County, approximately 25 miles southeast of Chicago. The CDP has a total area of 4.3 square miles, all of which is land.
The community is located on the shores of four lakes: Lake of the Four Seasons, Lake Holiday, Lake George, and Lake Louise. The lakes are connected by a series of canals and are used for recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and swimming.
Economy
The economy of Lakes of the Four Seasons is largely based on tourism and recreation. The community is home to several resorts and golf courses, as well as a marina and boat rental facility. The area also has several restaurants and shops.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.2% of the population.
