Francis Summary

Francis is a small town located in the state of Oklahoma, in the United States. It is situated in the southeastern part of the state, in the county of Pontotoc. The town has a population of approximately 1,000 people, and is located about 30 miles from the city of Ada.

History

The town of Francis was founded in 1891, when the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma opened up the area for settlement. The town was named after the first postmaster, Francis M. Smith. In the early 1900s, the town began to grow, and by 1910, the population had grown to over 500 people.
