Dickson is located at 34°51'25" North, 97°10'17" West (34.856944, -97.171389). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all land.

The economy of Dickson is largely based on agriculture and oil production. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants. The town also has a post office and a bank.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,845 people, 745 households, and 486 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,539.2 people per square mile (595.2/km2). The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.04.
