Dewar Summary

Dewar is a small town located in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. It is situated about 20 miles south of Tulsa and is part of the Tulsa Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1891 and was named after a local rancher, William Dewar. The population of Dewar was estimated to be 545 in 2019.

Dewar is located in the rolling hills of the Ozark Plateau. The town is situated at an elevation of 745 feet above sea level. The town is located in the Arkansas River Valley and is surrounded by wooded hills and valleys. The climate in Dewar is humid subtropical, with hot summers and mild winters. The average annual temperature is around 64°F.
