Minburn Summary
Minburn is a small city located in Dallas County, Iowa, United States. The population was 845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Des Moines–West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Minburn was founded in 1881 by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. The town was named after Minburn Creek, which was named after a Native American chief. The first post office was established in 1882.

The economy of Minburn is largely based on agriculture. The city is home to several grain elevators, a feed mill, and a fertilizer plant. The city also has a few small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a restaurant.

As of the census of 2010, there were 845 people, 339 households, and 233 families residing in the city. The population density was 938.9 people per square mile (362.3/km2).
