McCausland Summary
Mccausland is a small city located in Scott County, Iowa, United States. It is situated along the Mississippi River, approximately 10 miles south of Davenport. The population was 1,093 at the 2010 census.
History
Mccausland was founded in 1854 by William Mccausland, a Scottish immigrant. He purchased the land from the government and began to develop the area. The town was originally called Mccauslandville, but the name was changed to Mccausland in 1856.
The town grew slowly but steadily over the years, and by the early 1900s it had become a thriving community. The town was home to several businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, a hotel, and a sawmill.
In the early 1900s, the town was also home to a large number of immigrants from Germany, Ireland, and other European countries. These immigrants helped to shape the culture and economy of the town.

The racial makeup of the city was 97.2% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
There were 441 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% were married couples living together, 9.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.7% were non-families. 29.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 3.02.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 24.7% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
