Burnettown is located at 33°30'25" North, 81°58'45" West (33.506944, -81.979167). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.

Burnettown is a small town with a limited economy. The town is home to a few small businesses, including a convenience store, a gas station, and a few restaurants. The town also has a few manufacturing plants, including a paper mill and a plastics factory.
