Rutledge Summary

Rutledge is a small town located in the state of Minnesota, in the United States. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the state, near the border with Wisconsin. The town has a population of just over 500 people, and is part of the larger St. Louis County.

History

Rutledge was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from Wisconsin. The town was named after a local settler, John Rutledge, who had moved to the area from Wisconsin. The town was originally a farming community, and the settlers built a number of small farms in the area. The town grew slowly over the years, and by the early 1900s, it had become a small but thriving community.
In the early 1900s, Rutledge was home to a number of small businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith, a sawmill, and a gristmill. The town also had a post office, a school, and a church. The town was also home to a number of small industries, including a brickyard, a creamery, and a cheese factory.

Geography

Rutledge is located in the southeastern corner of Minnesota, near the border with Wisconsin. The town is situated in the St. Louis River Valley, and is surrounded by rolling hills and forests. The town is located about 25 miles north of Duluth, and about 50 miles south of the Twin Cities.
