Geography

History
Meire Grove was founded in 1856 by German immigrants who had settled in the area. The city was named after a local family, the Meires, who had a large farm in the area. The city was incorporated in 1887.

In the city, the population was spread out, with 26.2% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.2 males.
