Harris Summary

Harris, Minnesota is a small city located in the southeastern corner of the state, just north of the Iowa border. It is part of the Mankato-North Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area and is home to a population of just over 1,000 people. The city is known for its rural charm and its proximity to the Minnesota River.

History

Harris was founded in 1856 by a group of settlers from New York. The city was named after the first settler, William Harris. The city was originally a farming community, but it soon became a center for the lumber industry. The city was incorporated in 1872 and the first mayor was elected in 1873.
