Martin County Summary

Martin County is located in the western part of the state of Texas, in the United States. It is part of the Big Bend region of Texas, and is bordered by Midland County to the north, Howard County to the east, Glasscock County to the south, and Upton County to the west. The county seat is Stanton, and the largest city is Midland. The county was named for William E. Martin, a soldier in the Texas Revolution.
