Gaines County Summary
Gaines County is located in the western part of the state of Texas, in the South Plains region of the state. It is bordered by Yoakum County to the north, Terry County to the east, Andrews County to the south, and New Mexico to the west. The county seat is Seminole, and the largest city is Seagraves. Geography
Gaines County covers an area of 902 square miles, making it the second-smallest county in Texas. The terrain is mostly flat, with some rolling hills in the northern part of the county.
